Learning objectives#

  • Set up a Google Business Profile
  • Keep NAP details consistent
  • Create useful local pages
  • Add LocalBusiness structured data

Explanation#

Google Business Profile (GBP) is the most important local factor: correct category, hours, photos, services and regular updates.

Name, address and phone (NAP) must be identical on your website, GBP and directories.

Create a genuinely useful page for each real location — not doorway pages for cities you do not serve.

Ask happy customers for honest reviews and reply to all reviews. Never buy or fake reviews.

Code example: LocalBusiness markup for a coaching centre#

<script type="application/ld+json">

  "@context": "https://schema.org",
  "@type": "EducationalOrganization",

    "postalCode": "[PIN CODE]",
    "addressCountry": "IN"
  },
  "openingHours": "Mo-Sa 09:00-19:00"
}
</script>
Expected output
Search engines connect the website page, the Business Profile and the map listing to the same real place.

This example is illustrative. Copy or download it and run it in your own environment; the expected output is shown above.

Step-by-step explanation#

  1. Claim and complete the Business Profile.
  2. Use the same NAP everywhere.
  3. Publish a real page per location.
  4. Add accurate structured data matching the page.
